A Note from the Contributor

Maria C. Vallejo: Silk Ribbon Macrame. The women who made these shawls to keep warm in the Andes Mountains no longer devote their time to this endeavor as their ancestors did. Changes in fashion and the desire for a life that offered a world of salary and consumerism sent many to the big city from their beautiful small town of Nemocón.
